Recently I watch the film My Fair Lady (1964) for the first time and I loved the costumes that were worn, especially the hats. I love the size and how elaborate they are. As My Fair Lady was originally a theatre production, the hats would need to be seen on stage, hence the size. I like that throughout the film, the stage prescence was kept. I also like how even though the film is set in Edwardian times, the costume designer, Cecil Beaton included elements that reflect the time it was made, for example oversizes bows and the tilt of the hats.
